Site Rules
ONE. As a Proboards TOS abidding site, we require that all member be at least thirteen years of age when they register. Should we learn that you are not that old, you and your IP Address will be banned from the site, and you will then be reported to Proboards. In addition to this, please be aware that this site is rated M, so if you are not comfortable with sex, drugs and violence, then this might not be the place for you.
TWO. Signatures and icons of your character are greatly encouraged so that people can see what exactly they look like. However, we would like to request that the signatures not stretch the boards to much, and if they do, that they be resized. If you cannot resize them, feel free to ask and someone will be more than happy to resize it for you.
THREE. As a literate site, we require that you post at LEAST 350 words per post without tags and graphics. One liners are not acceptable at all, and anyone who frequently posts until the limit will be spoken to and warned. As open as we are, all roleplayers must be able to respond to what is posted. Also, please keep in mind that we post in third-person here, and nothing else.
FOUR. When joining this site, please be sure to remain active with your characters. We will enforce no limit to the number that you keep, but use common sense when you select whom you want to play so that you can keep them all active. Canons especially are important to the plot, so we'd hate to have an inactive Harry Potter. There will be an activity check at the beginning of each month, and after one week, all inactive accounts will be deleted and canons placed back on the list as available for playing.
FIVE. All threads that contain M rated material must be marked in some way, shape or form. [M], [R] or [Warning!] are just a few examples of how to mark them, that way people who like to stalk threads will know before they begin reading and can decide whether they would be comfortable or not.
SIX. Please do not post anywhere until your application has been accepted. We shall allow reservations on canons, but the other claims must be claimed only when you have been accepted and your name has changed colours. Be sure also to claim everything you require for your character and post in the Character Directory once you have finished, so that we can keep track of who plays who on the site. However, if you are applying for a half-breed, that application must be completed before you finish the primary application. You are not permitted to include anything about being a werewolf in the application unless you have done this, which includes canons as well!
SEVEN. Of course, the normal roleplaying rules come into effect here. Powerplaying and Godmodding are not allowed at all. Don't know what those are? Check Google. However, if you are given permission by the roleplayer or are using an NPC, then you are allowed to control their actions.
EIGHT. Anyone wishing to have more than one character is more than welcome to it, but we will ask that you create a seperate account for them. This will help to avoid confusion in the end.
NINE. To try and keep things balanced, for every two female characters you have, you MUST play at least one male. You will be denied a third female character if you already play two, because this rule will apply to everyone, even staff members. No one is above this rule!
TEN. Character death, major diseases and pregnancies...yes, we have a rule for this as well. If you wish to inflict any of these things on your character, please run them by a member of staff first, and it shall be discussed. We don't want half of our female population running around and getting pregnant, because it would throw the entire board out of wack. This will also apply to pregnancy-scares and near-death experiences.
ELEVEN. The character's are allowed to be nasty to one another, especially if you have threads between Gryffindor's and Slytherin's. However, we do not permit discrimination of any kind among our members, and expect that conflicts between the characters are not brought into the C-box. Should you have any issues with a member, please PM one of the staff members and we shall help to quietly resolve the issue.
TWELVE. As far as advertisements go, we are more than happy to have people leave their ads here. BUT! We have a board for such a thing, and that is the only place that ANYONE is permitted to advertise for their board. There is nothing that bothers people more than someone who joins a board merely to advertise to the members, and such people will be banned without hesitation!
THIRTEEN. And finally, this place was designed for people to roleplay their own way. This means that you need to have fun and create your own plots. Canons do not have to end up the way JK Rowling said they do if you do not want them to, which allows you a rather large amount of creative freedom. 'Live like you were dying.' So when you create your application, make sure to post the title as such: LASTNAME, firstname middlename. This makes everything look much neater.
